Joseph L. Micikas
Manager of Civil/Structural Engineering

Originally wanting to be a chemist or chemical engineering, Joseph L. Micikas chose the engineering profession deducting it would be “fun and interesting.”

Mr. Micikas decided to purse Civil Engineering because of his interest in construction. During his first industrial job, he participated in a training program that exposed the trainees to several aspects of engineering. Those being structural design, project management, construction management and plant engineering. This training program convinced him that structural engineering was the right fit for him. “As they say the rest is history,” Mr. Micikas says.

“The engineering profession allows us to assist our clients with their needs to have problems solved in an efficient and safe manner, to assist with plant and process expansion and to help them resolve maintenance and repair/replacement issues,” Mr. Micikas says.

Mr. Micikas is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) and Portland Cement Association (PCA). When not putting his engineering and management skills to use, he enjoys camping, riding his motorcycle, shooting, bowling, reading, going on cruises and to the beach and visiting wineries.

“My goals at Venture Engineering would be to build and develop the Civil / Structural Engineering Department into one of the best in the Pittsburgh engineering market and to keep our clients satisfied with our work product.”
