William Wright
Manager of Mechanical/Piping Engineering

Some people struggle when deciding on a profession. William (BJ) Wright’s 8th English grade teacher told him she could see him being an engineer someday, and he liked the idea.

Mr. Wright obtained his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. , Over the first 12 years of his career, he designed and managed the installation of more than 150 soil and groundwater remediation systems and directed or performed over 150 remediation pilot studies. During the past 5 years, he has focused on large scale remediation and construction projects, client program management, and engineering management.

“Engineering has always been a strong profession and will continue to be an important part of our nation’s infrastructure,” Mr. Wright says.

Mr. Wright is a registered engineer in twelve states. These are Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, Rhode Island and Florida. He is a former Vice President of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Pittsburgh Post.

In 1998, Mr. Wright won a client service award for his work with UNOCAL. He also was the primary author and presenter of a paper at the “2010 Battelle International Conference on the Remediation of Chlorinated and Recalcitrant Compounds.” His presentation and paper, published in the Conference Proceedings, described the source removal and subsequent bioremediation of chlorinated solvents in soil and ground water.

When not performing engineering duties, Mr. Wright enjoys spending time with his family, attending his children’s soccer games and cross country meets, traveling, bicycling, running and reading.
